RULES AND REGULATIONS

These Rules and Regulations detail the specifics of Let’s Bet Sports, a game offered by and under the auspices of GUYANA LOTTERY. These Rules and Regulations consist of information regarding Let’s Bet Sports, including but not limited to, game specifications, conditions, wagers amounts, prizes, claiming of prizes, and fraudulent claims. These Rules and Regulations protect GUYANA LOTTERY’s rights as well as provide the final decision on any matter regarding ticket tampering. These Rules and Regulations are to be kept at the Head Office and in all Regional Offices or Stores operated by GUYANA LOTTERY and should be maintained as a reference at all times. This document should always be at hand to solve any questions or inquiries made by the public.

GUYANA LOTTERY reserves the right to make amendments to these Rules and Regulations from time to time at their discretion.

These Rules and Regulations are available for public viewing at all times.

1. FOREWORD

1.1. These Rules and Regulations regulate all issues concerning Let’s Bet Sports, as organized and operated by the Organizer. These Rules and Regulations also regulate the relationship between the Organizer and the Players.

1.2. These Rules and Regulations are governed by the laws of Guyana and any difficulty, dispute or litigation that may arise from its application, compliance, interpretation or validity, will be resolved by the Organizer.

1.3. Financial administration of Let’s Bet Sports, including acceptance of Bets and payment of the Prizes to the Players, is the exclusive responsibility of the Organizer.

1.4. The Organizer may amend these Rules and Regulations at any time and in any manner, without prior notice.

1.5. Let’s Bet Sports is not associated with, sponsored by, or authorized by any sports league, member teams, team players, athletes, personalities or other affiliates in any way.

2. DEFINITIONS

  • The following words and phrases, as used herein, shall have the meaning specified below, unless a different meaning is plainly required by the context.
  • In these Rules and Regulations:

“Authorized Agent” means a person or an entity authorized to sell the Let’s Bet Sports product, to distribute Selection Slips, to process transactions and to generate Tickets through computer terminals installed at each point of sale;

“Away Team” means the visiting team in a Game, as determined by the Organizer;

“Away Win” means the Event Outcome in which the Away Team in a Game wins for the applicable Sport;

“Bet” or “Betting” means the act of placing a Bet Amount;

“Bet Amount” means the monetary amount selected by a Player to stake on a Ticket, as described in Section 4;

“Bet Cancellation” means forfeiting of a printed Ticket in accordance with Section 4;

“Central Computer System” means any computer system managed or operated under the authority of the Organizer, to record gaming transactions, including any computer utilized by the Organizer in the operation of Let’s Bet Sports;

“Draw” means the Event Outcome in which the number of Points separating the score of the Home Team and Away Team are within the range that constitutes a Draw, as determined by the Organizer, for the applicable Sport;

“Event” means a proposition associated with the Results of a Game;

“Event Code” means the identifier given to an individual Event offered for Betting;

“Event Cut-off Time for Betting” means the date and time assigned to an Event, by the Organizer in its sole discretion, after which no further Betting may occur with respect to that Event;

“Event List” means a periodic schedule of Events, each organized by Event Code and made available by GUYANA LOTTERY for the purpose of Betting on Let’s Bet Sports, available at Lottery terminals at participating Agents;

“Event Outcome” means a specified outcome of an Event based on the corresponding Results of a Game;

“Extra Play” means additional innings, periods, overtime or such other Extra Play as the Organizer may specify in accordance with the rules and regulations of the league or body governing that Game, but does not include Shoot-Outs, if any;

“Game”, “Match” means the specific match or competition on a scheduled start date at a scheduled start time, for a specific Sport or a non-sporting activity;

“Home Team” means the home team in a Game, as determined by the Organizer;

“Home Win” means the Event Outcome in which the Home Team in a Game wins for the applicable Sport;

“Market” means any type of Let’s Bet Sports Bet that has a minimum of one Selection for which an outcome may occur;

“Maximum Prize Limit” has the meaning set out in Section 7;

“Odds” means the return offered on a Bet on that Result, as determined and published by the Organizer and expressed as a number with two decimal points which shall be considered as a ratio for one (1);

“Organizer” means Guyana Lottery Company Limited;

“Over” means the Event Outcome in which the combined score of the Home Team and Away Team in a completed Game will be higher than the Over/Under Number;

“Over/Under Number” means the number, determined by the Organizer, which represents the projected combined Points of the Home Team and Away Team in a completed Game, expressed as a number ending in “.0” or as a number ending in “.5” for the purposes of Betting;

“Player” means an individual who has been issued a Ticket;

“Point” means the unit of measurement:

  • allocated by the Organizer to each team in a Game, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the league or body governing a Game and the terms of these Rules and Regulations, based on points accumulated by each team in that Game; and
  • used by the Organizer to determine the Result of an Event;

“Prize” means a sum of money, merchandise, property, service or any benefit to which a winner is entitled;

“Regulation Play” means the period of play in a Game prior to Extra Play and prior to a Shoot-Out, whether or not such Extra Play or Shoot-Out is played, as determined by the rules and regulations of the league or body governing that Game;

“Resettlement”, “Resettle” means a change to a Settlement made by the Organizer;

“Result” means the outcome of a Game at the time of Settlement as determined by the governing body or otherwise verified by the Organizer;

“Rules and Regulations” means these Let’s Bet Sports Rules and Regulations as may be amended from time to time;

“Selection” means the prediction of an Event Outcome made by the Player for the purposes of Betting;

“Selection Slip”, “Betslip” means a document used by the Player for the purposes of Betting as described in Section 3;

“Settlement”, “Settle” or “Settled” means the Result has been entered into the Central Computer System to determine eligibility for a Prize;

“Shoot-Out” means a series of shots taken by each participating team to determine Results after Regulation Play and Extra Play, if any;

“Sport” means the athletic contest described on the Event List;

“Sub Code” means the identifier given to each option of an individual Event for the purposes of Betting for outrights and total goals;

“Ticket” means a ticket, certificate, or other instrument as described in Section 3;

“Total Odds” means the product (multiplied together) of the Odds, as determined and published by the Organizer, associated with each Event selected by a Player for Betting;

“Under” means the Event Outcome in which the combined score of the Home Team and Away Team in a completed Game will be lower than the Over/Under Number;

“Virtual Game” means software-generated virtual Game generated using accredited random number generator (RNG);

3. PARTICIPATION

3.1. A Player must be a minimum of 18 years of age to participate.

3.2. Employees, directors, officers, shareholders (of 5% or more of the total shares issued), and consultants to the Organizer, Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited, Canadian Commercial Corporation and their spouses and other dependents are not eligible to participate or to claim Prizes.

3.3. Players can only participate Let’s Bet Sports through the authorized network of the Organizer.

3.4. A Player must accept and follow these Rules and Regulations and any special rules and conditions imposed by the Organizer completely and unconditionally.

3.5. The Organizer shall, in its sole discretion, make available to the public an Event List including the following information:

  • 3.5.1. the Sport;
  • 3.5.2. the Event Code;
  • 3.5.3. the Sub Code, if available on the applicable Event;
  • 3.5.4. the Games upon which the Events will be based;
  • 3.5.5. the date and time on which a Game is scheduled to be played;
  • 3.5.6. the designated Home Team and Away Team, as described by the Organizer, for the Game;
  • 3.5.7. the Over/Under Number, if available on the applicable Event;
  • 3.5.8. the Odds associated with each possible Event Outcome; and
  • 3.5.9. any other pertinent information as determined by the Organizer.

3.6. A Player shall complete a Selection Slip using the applicable Event List that the Player would like to Bet by marking the following information on the Selection Slip where indicated:

  • 3.6.1. the Event Code(s) of between 1 and 10 Events (or such other minimum and maximum number of Events as the Organizer may specify from time to time) on which the Player would like to Bet;
  • 3.6.2. the Selection for each of the Events on which the Player would like to Bet; and
  • 3.6.3. the Bet Amount.

3.7. A Player shall complete a Selection Slip and present it to an Authorized Agent along with payment for the applicable Bet Amount. The Authorized Agent shall, in such manner as the Organizer may determine, communicate to the Organizer the Player’s Selection(s) as outlined on the Selection Slip. Upon receipt of this information, the Organizer shall deliver to the Authorized Agent and the Authorized Agent shall subsequently deliver to the Player a Ticket which shall constitute a receipt for payment and record. This Ticket shall display:

  • 3.7.1. the Event Codes, the Player’s Selections, and the Odds associated with each Event Outcome;
  • 3.7.2. the scheduled date and time for each Game on which an Event is based;
  • 3.7.3. the Bet Amount;
  • 3.7.4. the Total Odds in relation to all Selections;
  • 3.7.5. the potential Prize based on the Selections made by the Player;
  • 3.7.6. a unique identification number for that Ticket; and
  • 3.7.7. any other pertinent information as determined by the Organizer.

4. ACCEPTANCE AND CANCELLATION OF BETS

4.1. The Organizer may, at all times and at its discretion, refuse to allow any person to wager on Let’s Bet Sports or limit the Bet Amount, without obligation to justify its decision.

4.2. The minimum and maximum Bet Amounts per Ticket are GYD 200 and GYD 50,000 respectively.

4.3. Any Bet must be validated by the Central Computer System before the Event Cut-off Time for Betting of the earliest Event indicated on the Selection Slip submitted by the Player.

4.4. It is the sole responsibility of the Player to ensure all required information is present, accurate, and legible on the Ticket. In the event of a dispute regarding the accuracy of information on a Ticket, all determinations of the Organizer (based on the information contained in the Organizer’s Central Computer System) shall be final and binding without right of appeal.

4.5. Failure to fully or correctly include any of the foregoing information on the Ticket could, in the sole discretion of the Organizer, result in the Ticket being invalid.

4.6. Any Bet not recorded by the Organizer in the Central Computer System or lost as a result of a computer failure or otherwise is void and shall not in any case entitle the Player to a Prize.

4.7. Cancellation of a Bet will only be accepted in special cases at the sole discretion of the Organizer. A Bet can only be cancelled:

  • 4.7.1. up to 5 minutes after having been validated by the Central Computer System; and
  • 4.7.2. 2 minutes before the start of the earliest Game printed on the Ticket.

4.8. If the cancellation of a Bet is not possible due to technical difficulties with the Central Computer System, the cancellation of the Bet will not take place and the Organizer bears no responsibility for this.

4.9. When a Bet is cancelled all Selections included in the Bet are cancelled and the payment for the Bet is returned to the Player.

4.10. The Organizer is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of the Tickets.

5. SPORTS, VIRTUAL GAMES AND EVENT OUTCOME

5.1. General Sports Conditions

  • 5.1.1. When an Event is deemed incomplete (as determined by the Organizer in its sole discretion), the Event Outcomes for that Event shall be assigned an Odds of 1.00 and considered to be a correct Result.
  • 5.1.2. The Organizer may change or remove Markets without prior notice.
  • 5.1.3. Unless the Organizer specifies other terms, outright Bets will be settled on the player or team that lifts the trophy.
  • 5.1.4. Regulation Play includes any allowance for time lost in either half, (e.g. for substitutions, assessment of injury to players, removal of injured players from the field of play, wasting time, and any other cause), as determined by on-field officials at their discretion, at the end of each half.

5.2. Football

  • 5.2.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play (excluding Extra Play and Shoot-Out).
  • 5.2.2. Points are based on in the final scores of the Home Team and Away Team at the end of Regulation Play (i.e. no Points will be earned for any goal(s) scored during Extra Play and/or a Shoot-Out, if any).

5.3. Basketball

  • 5.3.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play and Extra Play, if any.
  • 5.3.2. Points are based on in the final scores of the Home Team and Away Team in the completed Game (including Extra Play, if any).

5.4. American Football

  • 5.4.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play.
  • 5.4.2. Points are based on the final scores of the Home Team and Away Team in the completed Game.

5.5. Tennis

  • 5.5.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play (including Extra Play, if any).
  • 5.5.2. Points are based on the scores of both players or pairings in the completed Game.
  • 5.5.3. If there is a change to the scheduled number of Games played in this Event, Bets will stand.
  • 5.5.4. If a player or paring retires or is disqualified in a Game, the Event associated with the Game is deemed incomplete.

5.6. Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing

  • 5.6.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play, regardless of the number of rounds.
  • 5.6.2. If a competitor withdraws before starting the Game or no-contest is declared, the Event associated with the Game is deemed incomplete.

5.7. Baseball

  • 5.7.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play (including Extra Play, if any).
  • 5.7.2. Points are based on in the final scores of the Home Team and Away Team at the end of Regulation Play and during Extra Play, if any.

5.8. Cricket

  • 5.8.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play and Extra Play, if any.
  • 5.8.2. Points are based on in the final scores of the Home Team and Away Team in the completed Game (including Extra Play, if any).
  • 5.8.3. If at the end of Regulation Play and Extra Play, if any, both the Home Team and Away Team have the same number of Points, both a Home Win and a Visitor Win shall be considered correct outcomes and the Odds for that Event will be assigned to 1.00.

5.9. Motorsports

  • 5.9.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play.

5.10. Golf

  • 5.10.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play.

5.11. Cricket

  • 5.11.1. Events are considered complete when the Game the Event is associated with is completed within Regulation Play.

5.12. Virtual Games

  • 5.12.1. Once the Virtual Game is completed, the Results will be displayed to the Players for all applicable Markets.
  • 5.12.2. In the case there is a malfunction of any computerized system and the Virtual Game is not broadcasted or the Game is incomplete, all Tickets will be treated as valid and paid according to the (un-shown) Results of the game. They player can request a refund on his Bet.
  • 5.12.3. Although rare, due to the nature of streaming, Game commentary and streamed Game information may be out of sync with Game details displayed on the interface. This is considered as normal and has no effect on Event Outcomes.
  • 5.12.4. A Random Number Generator determines the Event Outcomes on Virtual Games.

6. SETTLEMENT AND PRIZE DETERMINATION

6.1. The original Ticket delivered to the Player by the Authorized Agent constitutes as the only acceptable evidence of a Bet being made. No facsimiles, copies or other reproduction of any kind are allowed.

6.2. Bets are settled on the official result of a Game published by the governing body at the time of Settlement for that Selection or as otherwise verified by the Organizer. In verifying a Result, the Organizer may rely on such information as it deems reliable at its sole discretion.

6.3. Once the Organizer has entered the Result into the Organizer’s Central Computer System, it shall be final and binding, without right of appeal.

6.4. Settlement will be at the Odds prevailing at the time the Bet was placed and confirmed.

6.5. The potential Prize for a winning Ticket is calculated by multiplying the Odds for each correct Event Outcome together to determine the Total Odds, and then multiplying the Total Odds by the applicable Bet Amount. The calculation by the Organizer of the amount of any and all Prizes shall be final and binding without right of appeal.

6.6. All Prizes must be claimed within ninety (90) calendar days from the date that all Events on the Ticket become completed. The Organizer has the right to delay or defer payment of any Prize for up to ninety (90) calendar days.

6.7. All winning Tickets must be signed by the Player to redeem corresponding Prizes as follows:

  • 6.7.1. Prizes up to GYD 25,000 can be redeemed by an Authorized Agent;
  • 6.7.2. Prizes between GYD 25,000 and GYD 100,000 can be redeemed at one of the Organizer’s regional offices;
  • 6.7.3. Prizes over GYD 100,000 must be redeemed at the Organizer’s main office.

6.8. After Settlement, any subsequent corrections or amendments by the governing body of that Game to the Result may not apply. The Organizer may Resettle at its sole discretion including where the Organizer determines there was an error made in offering a Selection, or an error was made in processing of a Settlement such as an incorrect score or Result being entered. In all cases, the Organizer’s decision to Resettle or not shall be final.

6.9. The Organizer, in its sole discretion, may delay entering Results into the Organizer’s Central Computer System and/or the awarding of Prizes, to the extent necessary, for purposes of taking whatever measures the Organizer deems necessary to help ensure the integrity of Let’s Bet Sports.

7. LIABILITY LIMIT

7.1. In all cases, the potential Prize that shall be available to be won on any given Ticket shall be limited to a Maximum Prize Limit of GYD 4,000,000.

7.2. The Organizer will refuse to accept any Selection Slip that could result in a winning Ticket with a potential Prize above the Maximum Prize Limit. Players waive any claim to amounts in excess of the Maximum Prize Limit.

7.3. The Organizer reserves the right to impose different Betting and Prize limitations as they may be appropriate.

8. ERRORS AND DISPUTES

8.1. A Player who presents a validated winning Ticket not recognized as winning by the Central Computer System or registers the Prize amount as lower than what they should be, has the right to submit a written complaint to the Organizer within six (6) days from the time when the Results were entered into the Central Computer System.

8.2. In the event of disputes related to payment of the Prizes, the Organizer and the Player are obligated to carry out all the necessary efforts to achieve the disadvantages linked to them, acting in good faith and in a context of balance of interests.

8.3. Where the Organizer determines an error was made in offering a Selection in any Bet, including an error of the Event List and Odds, the Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion to:

  • 8.3.1. Settle or Resettle the Bet with Odds for the affected Selection corrected to the time at which the relevant Bet was placed,
  • 8.3.2. void the affected Selection by reassigning Odds of 1.00 and Settling the remainder of the Bet; or
  • 8.3.3. void the entire Bet.

8.4. Where the Organizer determines such errors have been made prior to the relevant Event commencing, the Organizer will make reasonable efforts to notify affected Players and, where possible, will give the option to affected Players to either void an affected Selection or allow the Selection to stand with revised Odds.

8.5. All decisions by the Organizer shall be final and binding.

8.6. In the event of any claim or dispute by a player the liability of the Organizer shall be limited to the amount of the bet placed

9. MISCELLANEOUS

9.1. Any date and time communicated to the Player by the Organizer and Authorized Agents are based on the local Guyana time.

9.2. All currency used in the operation of Let’s Bet Sports in Guyana, including Bet Amount and Prize, is based on the local Guyanese currency.

9.3. Players who collect their respective Prizes authorize, by the mere fact of receiving the Prizes, the use of their image and voice, committing themselves to give testimony for any publication or advertising promotion of Let’s Bet Sports that the Organizer decides to make, either through printed, digital media, audio, video or other mean.

9.4. The Organizer reserves the right to reveal or publish the name, address and photographs of the winning Players.

9.5. In cases of force majeure, which makes it impossible to hold Let’s Bet Sports and impossible to payout winning Players, the Organizer bears no responsibility towards Players.

9.6. Force majeure covers events that are beyond the control of the Organizer and which were unforeseeable and unavoidable. Any planning or application of defense measures by the Organizer cannot have possibly prevented these events. Force majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, floods, earthquakes, fires, war, strikes, embargo, acts of terror, etc.

9.7. Where the context so requires, in these Rules and Regulations;

  • 9.7.1. the neuter gender shall include the feminine or masculine gender and vice versa;
  • 9.7.2. the singular shall include the plural and vice versa; and
  • 9.7.3. the term “including” means “including without limiting the generality of the foregoing”.

10. Mix Bet

Mix Bet in this bet mode, the player bets on various outcomes in the same sporting event. The máximum allowed is ten (10) outcomes

  • 10.1. Mix Bet is only available on selected Soccer (pre-match and live) and Basketball (pre-match only) sporting events.
  • 10.2 The types of bets available is more limited than for other bet modes, and varies from one event to another.
  • 10.3. The total odds and prize value are calculated according to the selections made by the player.
